According to DoT estimates, 3G spectrum, which is likely to be available by April 2008, will vary from 0 to 30 MHz across different circles. In the Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh (East) and Bihar telecom circles, the defence forces will vacate about 15 MHz of 3G spectrum; 20 MHz will be vacated in the Mumbai, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh (West) and Himachal Pradesh circles; and 25 MHz in the Rajasthan, Haryana and West Bengal circles. Delhi is the only circle where 30 MHz of spectrum is expected to be vacated. In the remaining circles, the availability of 3G spectrum has not been estimated yet.
