Abhishek Rungta, Founder and CEO, INT.

An angel investor, Abhishek Rungta has invested in a number of tech start-ups and consults with enterprises on integrated digital strategies to help them innovate and drive high returns. He founded INT. (Indus Net Technologies) in 1997. Starting out as a web hosting company, it has now evolved into a software product engineering company. “My expertise across technology and marketing gives us the unique ability to synergise systems with business, ensuring a high success rate of innovation and change management initiatives,” says Abhishek. As CEO, he is involved in planning, evaluation and strategy implementation. He has also been involved in process improvement and product development. “Our target customers are mostly enterprises and start-ups in the BFSI and pharma sectors in India, the US, Canada and the UK,” he says. Abhishek also serves as director of digital and performance marketing agency Indus Net TechShu, which was acquired by INT. in 2016.

During his 24-year-long journey at INT., one of his memorable projects was developing an app for South Africa’s third-largest telecom company, the Hello Group, to provide its customers with mobile wallet and real-time top-up facilities.

Talking about his other engagements, Abhishek says, “I co-founded EnergyTech Ventures in 2016. This is a fully managed SaaS application that provides actionable insights to the operations team, helping them make decisions on lowering energy and asset-related operating costs.” He also served as president of TiE during 2019-20.

According to Abhishek, blockchain technology and DLT are starting to grow in popularity and are being implemented by industries across the world. Going forward, new technologies will make up an increasing percentage of ICT spends. Cloud will continue to evolve, as will the demand for it.

Abhishek’s key strength lies in his relationship-driven mentorship approach. “I believe in empowering my organisation’s leaders with projects and problem statements and encourage them to come up with solutions with my guidance. I believe in looking at the big picture and progress rather than micromanaging employees.”

An accounts graduate from St Xavier’s College, Kolkata, Abhishek also has an MSc in multimedia technology from the University of Bath. He has also completed an executive programme from IIM Ahmedabad on strategy implementation and has been a part of the Stanford Seed Transformation programme. In his personal time, he likes to read and go on holidays with his family, which includes his parents, his wife and their two children.
