Keysight Technologies has launched the new version (3.5) of its BenchVue software that provides multiple-instrument measurement applications, data capture and solution applications, without the need for instrument programming.

The BenchVue 3.5 software comes with a test flow application through which users can create automated test sequences in minutes without traditional instrument programming. The application combines BenchVue’s data capture and analysis tools with the power of a sequencer. In addition, BenchVue 3.5 supports the integration of command expert sequences, providing designers with increased flexibility.

BenchVue 3.5 also features new applications that support signal generators, universal counters and Keysight’s FieldFox series of handheld analysers.

Other key features of BenchVue are as follows:

  • Expandable applications that provide instrument control with plug-and-play functionality.
  • Data logging for instruments such as digital multimetres, oscilloscopes, power supplies and FieldFox analysers.
  • Rapid test automation development and analysis.
  • Easy export to common software such as MATLAB, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

According to the company, the BenchVue software improves the way engineers interact with their instruments from initial connection to analysis completion. Engineers can ensure automatic configuration by plugging an instrument into their PC through the local area network (LAN) or USB. Engineers need not do programming or install separate instrument drivers, accelerating common testing tasks. Further, they can capture data and export the same easily.
