ACT Fibernet has launched a website called “Wi-Fi Pedia” on World Wi-Fi Day. This Wi-Fi centre of excellence will empower individuals by providing step-by-step instructions, practical guidance and important information on various topics such as the latest trends, new technology, expert series and talks, and routers on sale.
Today, the internet has become an integral part of our lives. Even during the pandemic, this technology emerged as a vital service that kept the economy going, connected people in isolation, and even saved lives. World Wi-Fi day is celebrated to acknowledge the crucial role that Wi-Fi plays in our daily lives, allowing us to connect with the world and each other. However, while Wi-Fi has become widely available in many regions across the globe, it is essential to recognize that a significant portion of the population in India still lacks access to basic connectivity. To address this issue and bridge the digital divide, ACT has taken some proactive steps.
Over the past years, ACT has installed an impressive number of 4000+ hotspots in key cities like Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, and Delhi. These hotspots are leveraging the cutting-edge ACT SmartFiber technology and are strategically placed in various locations such as hospitals, bus stops, shopping centres, public libraries, parks, and schools. The implementation of these projects has been highly fruitful, with the hotspots witnessing a significant user base of 1.36 million individuals.
Commenting on the occasion, Ravi Karthik , chief marketing officer , ACT Fibernet said, “We believe that access to the internet is a basic right that can bridge gaps, promote inclusiveness, and open doors to education and entrepreneurship. As we celebrate World Wi-Fi Day, ACT Fibernet reaffirms its commitment to bridging the digital divide by providing fast and reliable internet connectivity. We aim to empower individuals, connect communities, and unleash the potential for growth and development.”
In addition, ACT Fibernet has taken the initiative to offer complimentary Wi-Fi connections in 14 cities to enable internet accessibility for communities and educational institutions. These initiatives will help bring people together and promotes social inclusion from the comfort of their homes or public spaces, fostering connectivity, knowledge-sharing, and community engagement.
