Nipun Marya has been appointed as the chief executive officer (CEO) of Vivo’s sub-brand, iQOO in India.
Prior to this, Marya had been serving as the director of brand marketing at Vivo for the last 5 years.
iQOO was launched in 2019 as an online exclusive sub-brand under Vivo. The brand, which forayed into the Indian smartphone market in January 2020 with its 5G smartphone, was being led by Gagan Arora, director of marketing at iQOO.
Under the leadership of Marya, iQOO aims to accelerate the growth and address the demand of the consumers by focusing on strengthening the premium and mid-premium portfolio. Also under his leadership, iQOO will have an omni-channel strategy going forward as opposed to the earlier adopted online exclusive channel strategy.
