AirTrunk has announced plans to invest $21.05 billion in a new data centre in Maharashtra. The facility will be located at the Raigad Penn Growth Centre near Mumbai and is expected to have a capacity of 3 gigawatts.
Backed by US investment firm Blackstone, AirTrunk operates data centres across Asia, including in Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore. The announcement comes as India attracts substantial foreign investment in digital infrastructure, with over $630 billion anticipated from US technology companies this year, driven in part by tax incentives for domestic data centre operations.
