Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) has announced the launch of its 5G services in Tirupati, thereby expanding its 5G footprint in Andhra Pradesh. The rollout is designed to support seamless high-speed connectivity in a large township with over 0.65 million population and 0.07 million daily visitors. Vi had earlier launched 5G services in Tirumala in August 2025.
To manage the heavy network traffic load and ensure stable, high-speed connectivity, Vi has undertaken focused network augmentation and deployed dedicated 5G infrastructure across Tirupati. With this, Vi users in and around Tirupati can experience enhanced mobile broadband speeds, lower latency and a more reliable connectivity even in a high-footfall environment.
Vi’s 5G services are already available in Vishakhapatnam, in Andhra Pradesh. The telecom operator is progressing with its planned 5G expansion across other regions of the state, in alignment with 5G device penetration and demand.
Commenting on the development, business head, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Vi, said, “The extension of our 5G services to Tirupati marks an important milestone in ensuring that Vi customers can access seamless and high-speed data in a city that is home to many sacred places of worship, including the iconic Venkateshwara Temple (Balaji) one of India’s most significant, historic pilgrimage sites drawing over 70,000 devotees each day. We are committed to systematically expanding our 5G footprint across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, in line with growing demand and adoption.”
