Realme reportedly has plans to manufacture its entire portfolio of artificial intelligence of things (AIoT) devices, including smartwatches, earbuds and accessories,in India by 2027. The company has already tied up with Optiemus Electronics for local production and aims to be among the leading AIoT brands in the country within the next two to three years.
It will expand research and development (R&D) investment and strengthen India-based design and testing capabilities to develop its next generation of connected devices. India will also become the export base for Realme’s AIoT shipments to regions such as South Asia, the Middle East, Russia and the European Union.
The company expects local production to create more than 2,000 direct jobs and lower product costs, while also advancing domestic manufacturing of key components including printed circuits boards, batteries, chargers and cables.
