Subash Vasudevan, Director and Chief Business Officer, iBUS Networks
Subash Vasudevan is director and chief business officer at iBUS Networks, where he plays a key role in advancing the company’s integrated indoor digital connectivity vision. His career began in 1994 with Digital Equipment, followed by nearly 17 years at Infosys as a principal technology architect, where he led technology strategy, architecture and mentoring. At iBUS, he works closely with the leadership team to develop and execute strategy, and plays a central role in aligning customer needs with the right technology solutions. Reflecting on this journey, he notes, “Building iBUS from the ground up and seeing how our solutions contribute to India’s digital backbone gives me a strong sense of purpose.”
Vasudevan’s view of the market is shaped by the rapid expansion of 5G, which has intensified the need for strong indoor networks. “As nearly 80 per cent of people’s time is spent indoors, neutral-host, in-building solutions (IBS) have become increasingly important,” he notes. Users now expect high reliability, speed and scalability across all indoor environments, yet many buildings still face connectivity gaps. This makes well-designed IBS solutions critical, and iBUS aims to address these gaps by serving as a single point of contact for seamless mobile, Wi-Fi and internet access.
He also points to the rise in connected devices, which has heightened cybersecurity concerns, and sees edge computing creating new opportunities as data processing shifts closer to users.
His leadership style is grounded in shared ownership and data-driven decision-making. His strength lies in his strong technology background and his ability to approach challenges analytically, ensuring that solutions are both practical and effective. He also acknowledges that balancing detail orientation with delegation has been a conscious area of improvement.
Vasudevan completed his education in Computer Science at S.J. Polytechnic in Bangalore, followed by a DRDO-run post-diploma programme. He later earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from BMS. He also pursued an online programme at UCLA and completed the senior executive leadership programme at Oxford University.
Outside work, he enjoys playing golf and listening to podcasts. His family includes his wife, a homemaker, his daughter, who is pursuing a master’s degree in Accounting and Management at University College London, and his son, who is studying Computer Science at King’s College London.
