According to a regulatory filing, Tata Communications has acquired a 51 per cent stake in Commotion Incorporated, an artificial intelligence (AI)-native enterprise software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform with operations in the US and India, for Rs 2.27 billion. The company noted the transaction will strengthen its customer interaction suite by integrating agentic AI and orchestration capabilities, allowing it to offer more intelligent, automated and personalised solutions.
The acquisition was executed through its wholly owned subsidiary Tata Communications (Netherlands) B.V. and includes a combination of share purchase from existing investors and fresh capital infusion into the company.
Further, the Commotion’s platform enables enterprises to deliver personalised, real-time customer experiences through advanced AI solutions. Its offerings include voice AI, omnichannel CX automation and autonomous digital agents, which help automate complex workflows, enhance engagement at scale and support continuous innovation across customer-facing and internal functions.
