According to the chief technology officer (CTO), Ericsson, India’s strong 5G rollout, paired with advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and data centres (DC), can spur local innovation and generate new business opportunities. He noted that India now has one of the best 5G networks globally.

He noted that Ericsson’s centre strategy involves working closely with major DC players and semiconductor companies, such as Intel and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), to expand its capabilities beyond mobile networks.

Further, he stated that Ericsson collaborates with chipmakers to build power-efficient application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) for its radio units and other products, while also incorporating advanced manufacturing technologies, including Intel’s 18A process.
