According to Accenture, Indian telecom operators have the required capability to bring generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) into their workflows, though actual rollout will depend on business priorities. Conversations around autonomous software, or AI agents, have recently picked up across telecom, government, and healthcare. Companies are exploring them to boost employee efficiency and develop new revenue lines, even as worries persist about the risks of letting autonomous systems take charge.

In telecom, Accenture noted that AI-driven agents will be introduced selectively, only after weighing the gains and the possible downsides of granting machines independent control.
