HFCL has reportedly announced that it has won contracts in 40-45 per cent of gram panchayats (GPs) under the BharatNet Phase III programme and has begun supplying its network equipment.

The company has started delivering optical fibre cable (OFC), internet protocol multi-protocol label switching (IP/MPLS) routers, power systems, and racks through Exicom Tele-Systems, where HFCL holds a significant minority stake. In addition, HFCL is supplying OFC to other system integrators that have secured BharatNet Phase III contracts across various packages.

In addition, HFCL highlighted the potential of unlicensed band radios (UBRs) to ease spectrum congestion in the mid-band, enabling telecom carriers to allocate airwaves for advanced 5G applications.
