According to the Minister of State for Communications, in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha on August 07, 2025, the network data, traffic, and other details generated by Starlink satellite internet service will be stored locally in India and that domestic user traffic will not be mirrored to any system or server outside the country.
The Minister further added that the security conditions, inter-alia, include setting up Earth station gateways in India for providing satellite-based communication services, ensuring that no user traffic originating from or destined for India is routed through any gateway outside the country, prohibiting copying or decryption of Indian data abroad, and preventing Indian user traffic from being mirrored to any foreign system or server.
