Airtel Business has implemented its Secure Intelligent Security Operations Centre (iSOC) to enhance the cybersecurity framework of Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL), a public sector undertaking in the oil and gas sector located in Northeast India. The deployment comes in response to a significant rise in cyber-attacks targeting critical infrastructure.
According to industry estimates, the cyber-attacks on government institutions have surged by 48 per cent in recent years, with the oil and gas sector alone suffering cumulative losses exceeding Rs 1.25 trillion.
The collaboration provides NRL with a centralised, artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) powered iSOC that offers 24×7 monitoring, real-time threat detection, and compliance support. Further, the iSOC is now actively monitoring over 1,700 devices across NRL’s IT infrastructure, including data centres, servers, PCs, and mobile devices. It facilitates early threat detection, rapid incident response, and actionable insights to ensure business continuity and operational resilience.
