Bharti Airtel is reportedly developing a technology to bring down online scams and phishing attempts through text messaging and calls for its mobile users, preventing scamsters from misusing one-time passwords and online links.
However, the proposed technology would not work on over-the-top (OTT) apps, and it has been felt that the government and telecom regulator to bring these apps under regulatory framework to combat the issue.
