IIM-Mumbai has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ashwin Mittal (AM) Foundation to set up a centre for excellence (CoE) in advanced artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for business decisions.
The CoE will promote research, innovation and collaboration with an initial focus on the transformative impact of technologies such as large language models, machine learning, knowledge graphs, predictive analytics and other methodologies used in enhancing decision-making processes in business, trade and commerce. While IIM-Mumbai will provide the facilities, infrastructure and faculty, the AM Foundation will provide upfront and annual funding over four years. Moreover, students will have access to necessary resources to focus on the transformative impact of technologies.
The initiative aims to develop real-world, data-driven solutions with impact across industries and communities. The CoE will also provide inputs to develop the curriculum for the education programmes that will be conducted by the IIM-Mumbai faculty. The focus will be across domains including healthcare, education, logistics and agriculture for business applications and benefits to the society at large.
