Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has received a letter of acceptance (LoA) from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for the development of the middle-mile network of BharatNet under a design, build, operate, and maintain model.
This development includes the creation, upgrading, operation, and maintenance of the network, with a total deal value of approximately Rs 36.22 billion.
The contract stipulates a three-year timeline for construction and a subsequent ten-year maintenance period, with maintenance costs set at 5.5 per cent per annum of capital expenditure (capex) for the first five years and 6.5 per cent per annum for the following five years.
