Reliance Jio has collaborated with Scheduled Tribes Development department to launch 5G AirFiber services in five remote indigenous villages of Kerala for the first time.

The services were inaugurated online, connecting community study rooms in five centres. In the first phase, five villages in Kerala including Melekap (Wayanad), Kozhimala (Idukki), Attathode (Pathanamthitta), Attappadi, and Kottamedu (Palakkad) will benefit from this high-speed internet service.

AirFiber encompasses 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) service. One of the key features of this high speed internet facility is that it ensures uninterrupted connectivity even in adverse weather conditions, making it ideal for remote regions.  As per the telco, this collaboration aims to bridge the digital divide in the region.
