The government has emphasised that semiconductors, modern technologies, and artificial intelligence are fundamentally interconnected and vital for our future. To this end, it has initiated the Indian Semiconductor Mission, which aims to leverage India’s potential to realise this vision.

The government believes that semiconductor production and related activities will take place within India, as the country possesses the talent and resources necessary to deliver comprehensive solutions to the global market.

The government also has reported a significant shift in the mobile phone industry, where India, once reliant on imports, has now transitioned to exporting mobile devices. This transformation is a result of the country establishing a strong manufacturing ecosystem, positioning India as a major hub for mobile production. This progress aligns with the government’s broader goal of becoming a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing.
