Vi and SAR Televenture sign an agreement to deploy 5,000 new 4G small cell sites

SAR Televenture has reportedly signed an agreement with Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) to deploy 5,000 new 4G small cell sites. The rollout is expected to start in fourth quarter of the financial year 2024-25 (FY25).

This agreement underlines Vi’s plans to expand its network and strengthen its services. As per Vi’s regulatory filing, it intends to set up 26,000 new 4G sites, expand capacity of existing 40,800 4G sites and establish 22,000 new 5G sites in the next two years.

Meanwhile, SAR Televenture has planned to invest Rs 425 million for deploying 1,000 new towers with an aim to add tenancies from Vi and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited.
