
Information Telecommunications & Handset Industry Association (INTHIA) is scheduled to be launched in India soon. The association will work towards supporting the government?s ?Make in India? initiative.
INTHIA has been formed by telecom operators, suppliers, manufacturers, sales and service professionals from China, Taiwan and India. The association will co-develop a practical, on-the-ground sales and technical curriculum for Indian graduates to be enabled with the job skills to join the handset production, sales, distribution and telecom equipment industry. It will also open a job portal for telecom professionals.
Further, the association will create a framework to protect the interests of domestic retail and distribution community in India, with embarking new framework laws for new market entrants in the Indian telecom business domain.
The INTHIA mission includes testing and certification of handset companies, quality parameters, consumer satisfaction index and proposing of the best market practices on retail front by operators and handset companies. The association will also frame guidelines under the bureau of Indian standards (BIS) division of the Department of Electronics on safety & conformity standards for supply of quality telecom equipments to the end user.
