RCOM has reported a 34 per cent rise in net profit from Rs 1.32 billion for the quarter ended June 2014 to Rs 1.77 billion for the quarter ended June 2015. The operator?s total income increased from Rs 55.23 billion to Rs 55.41 billion during the same period; despite the reduction in interconnect usage charges, lower ceiling on roaming tariffs and the onset of seasonality in the first quarter. 

The operator?s data traffic grew by 68 per cent to 92.8 billion MB on a year-on-year basis due to rise in data subscribers and higher data usage per customer. The company?s total data customer base grew by 23.8 per cent on a year-on-year basis to 35.4 million. This includes 17.9 million 3G customers. The average revenue per user (ARPU) rose by 2.0 per cent to Rs 140 during the same period.
