
Gujarat government has entered into an agreement with China-based ZTE?s software arm, ZTEsoft for smart city projects in the state. Under this agreement, the Gujarat government and ZTEsoft will jointly work to identify the target city and area, and will work together to set up a trial project in the state.
The government has approved seven smart cities in Gujarat. The partnership with ZTEsoft is aimed at technologically upgrading these cities. Earlier, the Chinese firm had also announced plans to invest Rs 6 billion in smart city projects in India over a period of five years.
