The Department of Electronics and Information and Technology (DeitY) has collaborated with Google and the Computer Emergency Response Team-India (Cert-In) to launch an internet safety campaign in the country. The government’s crowd sourcing platform under DeitY, MyGov, recently hosted a discussion to decide on a roadmap for the same, and received 650 ideas on this issue.

MyGov platform, in collaboration with all stakeholders, is also expected to issue awareness guidelines soon on various safety measures to be followed by government officials, schools, guardians and other vulnerable sections. DeitY has suggested a year round programme to raise awareness on the issues of internet safety. The programme would include roundtables, workshops, security cafes, and participation from policymakers and non-governmental organisations.
