Indus Towers is planning to increase its presence with the addition of new telecom towers in the Tamil Nadu circle. The company had added 200 new towers in 2014-15 and is contemplating the addition of another 200 towers in 2015-16. At present, Indus Towers has a portfolio of 13,000 telecom towers in the state and is planning to increase its market share, which stands at 52 per cent, by one per cent every year in Tamil Nadu. It added that the growth would be achieved through institutional site acquisitions from government, non-government and private bodies.
Meanwhile, Indus Towers also claimed that it has substantially increased the number of its sites powered by green solutions and will continue to do so with reduction in diesel consumption. The company is targeting increasing its green sites to over 4,600 sites by 2015.
