
Bharti Airtel and Idea Cellular have awarded contracts worth $60 million each to China-based telecom equipment manufacturer Huawei Technologies. As part of the deals, Huawei will upgrade both the operators? wireline networks in the country. This would, in turn, allow Airtel and Idea Cellular to carry increasing data traffic on their networks.
Huawei will provide 100G dense wavelength division multiplexing products, Hybrid IP radio solutions and 400 Gbps carrier routers to enhance their network capacity.
