Indus Towers has stated that it has converted 35,000 tower sites across 15 circles to diesel-free sites. The company invested Rs 3.6 billion to achieve this target, including investments for advanced energy storage solutions and cooling units. Few of the cities in which these towers are located include Ahmadabad, Gandhinagar, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Mumbai and Palampur.
The company is now planning to increase its count of diesel-free sites to 40,000 sites by March 31, 2015.
