Bharti Airtel has asked the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to immediately allocate the spectrum won by the telecom operator in the 1800 MHz band in February 2014 auctions. It has asked for allocation of spectrum in this band in the Delhi and Kolkata circles.
Further, the operator has asked for an extension to the expiry date of its licence in the 900 MHz band in the two circles by six months from the date of the allotment of newly acquired spectrum in the 1800 MHz band for a smooth migration.
A similar request has been sent by Vodafone to DoT for allocation of spectrum in the 1800 MHz band in the Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai circles.
