Hike, the instant messaging (IM) application service, has secured funds worth $65 million from overseas investors led by Tiger Global Management. With this, Tiger Global will acquire a stake in the company.

Earlier, Hike messenger had raised funds in two rounds, $7 million in April 2013 and $14 million in March 2014, from Bharti Soft Bank, a joint venture between Bharti Enterprises and Japanese telecom firm Softbank.

Hike is one of the leading mobile applications based out of India with around 35 million users with around 90 per cent of its users from India. 

Kotak has over 24 years of experience in the sales and marketing domain. Prior to Smartlink, he spearheaded the new line of business for Digital Infrastructure at Ashtech Infotech Private Limited. He has also worked as the VP of Product Management at D-Link India Limited.
