Viber is planning to initiate billing customers for its services through telecom carriers in India. This comes in line with the company?s strategy of monetising its services in the country.
Presently, Viber users are required to make payments through credit cards or debit cards. In carrier billing, the charge for availing Viber services will be reflected in the subscriber’s telephone bill rather than making direct payments.
India is amongst the top three fastest growing markets for the company and its Indian subscriber base currently stand at 25 million.
