
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is planning to provide 3G data services in Lasalgaon, Niphad and Satana. Further, BSNL intends to offer seamless telecom connectivity in the entire region. In this regard, the operator plans to roll out fibre cable network in the three areas, which are expected to cost Rs 6 million in each area. Moreover, the company intends to install the network by end-August 2014 as the work has already started in few places.
Optical fibre cable network will be laid in two circuits to improve the broadband connectivity through the fixedline network. The Lasalgaon circuit will benefit the Lalsalagaon Agriculture Market Committee, Niphad town, vinchur, and Pimpalgaon Baswant while the Satana circuit will bnefit Nampur, Kalwan, Tahrabad, Deola towns.
BSNL will also ensure that the connections in these towns remain uninterrupted. In case one cable becomes non-operational, connectivity will be routed through the other route which will ensure minimal drop in service and very small number of customers will be affected.
Earlier, the demand for seamless connectivity emerged as the connections to government banks and government offices and even to BSNL customers in Lasalgaon and Satana regions were affected for several hours in May 2014. This had resulted in tremendous loss of business.
