
According to the Nigerian telecom regulatory authority, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), the Nigerian arm of the Indian telecom operator, Bharti Airtel has become the second largest mobile services company by subscribers.
NCC has states that at end of February 2014, Bharti Airtel took over second position from Globacom with 21 per cent market share and a subscriber base of 26,194,336. At present, telecom industry in Nigeria mobile is dominated by MTN with a 45 per cent market share and a subscriber base of 57,183,745 .
Since the launch in 2010, Bharti Airtel has invested over $1.7 billion in its Nigerian telecom network.
