The Global Mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) has released a report titled, Status of the LTE Ecosystem.
The report states that 1,240 long term evolution (LTE) user devices have been launched by 120 suppliers and provides an analysis of the main developments and trends.
222 LTE networks are commercially launched globally. GSA expects this number will increase to 260 commercially launched LTE networks by end-2013. There were 126.1 million LTE subscriptions by June 30, 2013. 1,240 LTE user devices, including frequency and carrier variants have been announced by 120 suppliers, according to GSA?s research up to November 3, 2013.
680 LTE devices were launched in the last year. The number of LTE device manufacturers increased by 44 per cent in the same period.
