Bharti Airtel has increased its stake in Qualcomm India?s broadband wireless access companies, say news reports.
The operator has raised its shareholding to 51 per cent by acquiring an additional two per cent stake. The deal?s financial terms were not disclosed.
With this, all four Qualcomm entities holding BWA spectrum have become subsidiaries of the Indian company.
Prior to this, the operator had acquired a 49 per cent stake in Qualcomm?s India entities that held licences to offer 4G services in Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana and Kerala.
Bharti Airtel acquired 26 per cent stake, which was held by Global Holding Corporation and Tulip Telecom. It acquired the rest by subscribing to fresh equity.
