The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has allocated 10,000 numbers to Reliance Jio Infocomm (RJI), for testing 4G mobile services roll out in Delhi, Mumbai and Jamnagar.

The company has been provided 4,000 numbers each for Mumbai and Delhi and 2,000 numbers for Jamnagar. However, DoT has directed Reliance Jio Infocomm that during the testing period the company will not charge any fee either from consumers or other telecom operators. DoT has asked Reliance Jio Infocomm not to share these numbers with a third party as these resources have been allocated to it purely for testing purpose.

Earlier, Reliance Jio Infocomm (formerly Infotel Broadband Services Limited) had requested DoT to allocate it phone numbers for providing voice calls facility on its 4G services network.
