Tata Communications and Qatar Telecom are planning to work incollaboration with each other on various telecom projects.
Both the companies are currently in the process of examining the prospects of working on several global cable network projects to provide connectivity to emerging global markets.
Currently, Tata Communications owns and operates the world’s only wholly-owned subsea Gulf cable system, Tata Global Network (TGN) with significant assistance from QTel. TGN covers about 20 per cent of the world’s internet routes, reaching over 240 countries and territories. The cable network offers speeds of upto 10 Gbps.
