Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL) plans to launch the mPOS service for its subscribers shortly. The service will enable users to make card-based payments via the mobile handset and tablets.
In so far, the operator has rolled out a pilot project for the service in partnership with e-commerce retailers Flipkart.com and Yebhi.com. As part of this tie-up, SSTL will provide the MTS MTag 3.1 smartphone and the required data services to these companies.
The company has priced the complete package comprising the MTag 3.1 handset, the mPOS service and a one-year data plan between Rs 3,000 and Rs 4,000.
