
After several delays, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has successfully completed the process of purchasing network equipment via a bidding process.
The operator had floated a tender to purchase 14.3 million GSM lines and the total value of the contract is $170 million.
It is believed that ZTE and Huawei have emerged as the two lowest bidders for supplying GSM equipment to the operator. ZTE?s bid stood at $50 per line.
Besides, BSNL also floated a tender for the supply of Intelligent Network equipment.
Alcatel Lucent made the cut in this category, followed by ZTE.
