In continuation of the 3G roaming agreements issue, operators have filed an affidavit before the Telecom Disputes Settlement & Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) against the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), say news reports.

The operators have challenged DoT?s attempt to question TDSAT?s jurisdiction in the case and have termed it as “a desperate attempt to avoid adjudication of the present dispute.? Also, the operators have requested the tribunal to dismiss DoT’s application.

Telecom operators have also opposed DoT?s opinion that they require a separate licence for 3G.

“As a licensor, DoT should be aware that there is no 2G or 3G licence and the licence is common under UASL. This basic and fundamental error of perception colours the entire prospective and action of DoT,” said the operators in their reply.
