The central government has informed the Supreme Court that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) plans to examine the documents submitted by Janata Party chief Subramanian Swamy, that link Home Minister, P. Chidambaram to the 2G spectrum issue.
The government told Justice G.S. Singhvi and Justice AK Ganguly, “The new documents filed before this court will be studied and considered by the CBI and may be covered in the next status report.”
Prior to this, Swamy submitted in the court, documents highlighting the alleged role of Chidambaram in deciding the price of 2G spectrum, when he was the finance minister.
