
Nokia India has announced the launch of two new smartphones, the Nokia E6 and Nokia X7. These devices operate on the Symbian Anna platform, which offers users improved text input, a faster browser, refreshed Ovi Maps and higher security.
Speaking at the launch, Viral Oza, director marketing, Nokia India said, ?With the launch of two new devices on the new Symbian Anna, we aim to further consolidate our leadership position in the Indian smartphone market.?
Oza further added that starting this July, Nokia will start shipping Nokia N8s, E7s, C7s and C6-01s with the new Symbian Anna software update. By the end of August, existing owners of these devices can also download Symbian Anna. Over the next 12 months Nokia plans to bring up to 10 new Symbian-based smartphones to market.
The Nokia E6 is a touch and type monoblock QWERTY business smartphone. It offers access to Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Communicator Mobile and Microsoft SharePoint. It is priced at Rs 18,679.
The Nokia X7 is an entertainment-focused smartphone with a large 4? display ideal for gaming, and an 8 megapixel camera and HD-quality video. The Nokia X7 comes preloaded with the popular Galaxy on Fire HD and Asphalt 5 HD games. Nokia X7 consumers can also access a range of games through the Ovi store, free of charge. It is priced at Rs 22,829.
