The Russian government expects to complete its pending transaction to pick up a 20 per cent stake in Sistema Shyam TeleServices (SSTL) for around $670 million by October 2010. Currently, Russian operator Sistema owns 73.71 per cent in SSTL while the Shyam Group owns the rest. As per the deal, Sistema will sell a 20 per cent stake to the Russian government and would then start the process of listing the company.
