The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) plans to frame regulations to curb unsolicited calls and text messages. According to J.S. Sarma, chairman, TRAI, the regulator has almost completed this task and were planning to introduce the regulations before the end of October.
TRAI recently released a consultation paper titled, ?Review of Telecom Unsolicited Commercial Communications Regulations’ seeking views from various stakeholders on how to tackle the issue. Now it is formalising its recommendations, which will be sent to the government for further action.
