DAE-based Etisalat has launched its FTTH network, “eLife”, in Abu Dhabi. The network will be able to provide double-play services, bundling broadband internet and fixed telephony, to its customers. In the future, Etisalat plans to offer high speed internet at download speeds of up to 100 Mbps over the network, along with a video-on-demand service and HDTV. The company is also in the process of connecting Dubai and Sharjah to the e-Life network with plans to connect the entire UAE by 2011.
