Taiwan’s Chunghwa Telecom has contracted Ericsson to develop a trial long term evolution (LTE) mobile broadband network.

Taiwan’s Chunghwa Telecom has contracted Ericsson to develop a trial long term evolution (LTE) mobile broadband network. Ericsson will provide the core network infrastructure, base stations and network management systems for the 4G network, which will be rolled out and tested in northern Taiwan. The company plans to complete the first phase of testing by mid-2010 with plans to launch LTE services in 2011.
