Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has signed an greement with Mumbai-based broadband firm IOL Netcom, to introduce wireless telephony services using a franchisee model via the CDMA technology in Mumbai and Delhi.

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has signed an agreement with Mumbai-based broadband firm IOL Netcom, to introduce wireless telephony services using a franchisee model via the CDMA technology in Mumbai and Delhi. MTNL’s move comes as a result of its inability to register significant revenues from its own CDMA mobile service, Garuda. IOL Netcom’s brand IOL Mobile will, in fact, compete side by side with Garuda.
