BSNL is planning to invest around Rs 50 billion in its Wi-Max project. The company will initially launch Wi-Max operations in three states including Maharashtra (excluding Mumbai), Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh, and plans to set up 50,000 IT-enabled kiosks called common service centres running on this technology. The only hitch is the much-awaited Wi-Max spectrum.
