Oman Mobile Telecommunications has appointed NSN to consolidate and improve its network quality and coverage, with the former launching new services such as EDGE in the rural areas. As a leading supplier to Oman Mobile, NSN will replace parts of the existing radio network in southern Oman in a countrywide consolidation initiative. NSN will improve the coverage of Oman Mobile’s network along the road that runs between north and south Oman.

Swapping the existing radio network between BidBid and Salalah in southern Oman, it will improve capacity in these areas and in the new growth market of Duqm. NSN will also enable EDGE services in the rural areas of the Sultanate of Oman.
