The Hong Kong authorities have awarded the fifth 3G mobile licence to Hong Kong-based PCCW, the only bidder for it. The licence will enable the company to offer CDMA2000 services from November 2008. PCCW will have to pay a spectrum utilisation fee of $9.8 million to the Hong Kong government and provide a performance bond of $19.3 million to the Office of Telecommunications Authority before November 27, 2007.
